I finally got enough ame to hatch a Charizard last week! Good abilities, too--Air Slash/Overheat. So that counts for something, even if it's not directly from walking.

I got an Onix and a Yanma out of an egg during the Spring Festival, and managed to catch enough Oddishes to evolve a Bellossom.

But in terms of actually finding pokemon in the wild? Not really.
